in ventura

on a recent trip to ventura, baloo and alex get 

comfortable on the bed. ridgebacks are born knowing

what couches and beds are for. 

west fork oak creek

the west fork at oak creek is a beautiful area to hike just

about 10 miles north of sedona. the colorful rock

walls that line the stream are gorgeous. the stream

provided a perfect trail to wade along, rarely more than

knee high and often little more than ankle deep. alex

is not much of a water dog. she willingly came along, but

alternated between looks of puzzlement and concern

throughout the day.

baloo turns 4 today.

at this point, alex had been in the ring 2 times and

was letting me know she was ready to go. she had

voiced several complaints and finally just began to

look perplexed that we weren't really doing anything

productive, yet weren't making any moves toward the

exit.

toys. here she is with her latest obsession - a rubber

chicken. she searches for it at night and

takes it to bed with her.
